For over two decades VMS has contributed to
the success of hundreds of service-oriented contractors by reducing
the crushing burdens of office administration overload. The features
of our products have been carefully designed to fit the needs of the
service-oriented contractor. Many of our applications are generic in
nature, meaning they can be molded by the contractor, regardless
of specialty, to fit his individual needs. Other applications are
trade specific, such as our Service Management application, and have
been
designed after hundreds of man hours of research, design and testing
within the trade prior to release. We feel our focused industry
philosophy
has been successful and we are proud of our achievements as shown

Software Maintenance
VMS software is maintained and enhanced by persons
knowledgeable in industry-specialized software -- software

enhancements

Enhancements are released regularly and are available to all customers
who have a current support agreement.
Unlike many software companies, VMS also has an
active custom programming group. VMS realizes that no two companies
are alike and, if your company has a need that cannot be accommodated
within the standard features of our applications, we will do custom
modifications to our products. Better than 90% of custom modifications
become part of our standard offerings. This benefits our customers
in knowing that their modifications are supported and that they
will not become a company who can no longer be fully supported because
they have modified programs.
Education
VMS' Customer Education program helps our customers
use VMS products to their fullest advantage. The classes are conducted
by members of VMS' technical staff who are office managers themselves,
and who understand that increased productivity and efficiency are basic
requirements for running a successful office. Class curriculum,
workbooks,
exercises, and example companies closely simulate real-life
situations --
students leave class with actual working knowledge! Scheduled hands-on
training sessions take place in VMS' Education Facilities in Pensacola,
Florida, and in other locations throughout the country. Customized
on-site training classes are also available.

VMS Applications Are "Open" by Design
Our applications are written in Synergy, a language
which offers both VMS and our customers the best of both worlds --
the versatility of 4th Generation Language utilities, plus the power
of a 3rd Generation Language. Synergy is extremely portable and will
run
on numerous operating system platforms such as Windows 2000/NT/2003
and, UNIX-based systems. Applications developed
in Synergy run on more than 250 hardware platforms.
Industry studies have shown that approximately
75 percent of a company's investment in information automation over
a five-year period will be in the labor it takes to constantly maintain
their information -- customer and contract records, employee and
vendor records, historical job information, etc. A major benefit to our
customers in using VMS applications developed under Synergy is the
knowledge that their investment in software and data files are
protected
and, when their needs dictate a change in hardware/operating system
platforms, the software and data files will run on the system of their
choice.
It enables VMS to serve the roll of a consultant when it comes to
hardware/operating system recommendations because our applications
are not "locked in" to any specific platform.
All Software Developed and Owned by VMS
Many companies, especially those who develop
applications
for the service-oriented contractor, develop a small number of
applications
with the idea that they will interface with other accounting products.
This often means that the customer will end up with a non-interfaced
system and multiple sets of books for their various companies or
divisions. It is also unlikely that the applications developed by
different
companies will look and operate the same. Menu layouts, function
keys, etc., will not be consistent and result in lower productivity
on the part of people operating the applications.
VMS has developed approximately 20 applications
designed for the service-oriented contractor. All applications
"integrate" with each other, eliminating the need to re-enter data
to update associated applications. All applications have common looking
menus,
and the performance of function keys is consistent throughout all
applications. The benefits for our customers are especially apparent
when they install new applications (there is consistency in the
ways applications operate), cross-train operators, and have the need of
multiple divisions/departments to share one data file (i.e., customer
and general ledger records being shared by the construction and
service divisions, etc.).
VMS Utilizes the Applications We Develop
VMS, being a service-related company, utilizes
many of the applications we develop. This is especially true with
our Service Management application. We offer service contracts to our
customers, keep track of all applications installed at a customer's
facility, log calls when they are placed, assign support personnel
to a call, and track service history relating to a customer's contract.
This benefits our customers in that we face many of the same problems
they experience, helping us better relate to their needs. Utilizing the
applications also allows us to test new releases of the applications
prior to sending the enhancements out to selected beta test sites
for further testing prior to formal release.
VMS Looks to the Future
As mentioned earlier, VMS allows our customers
to direct us in the evolution of the software. We participate in
major industry trade shows and expositions and have been featured
speakers at a number of these engagements. We also utilize outside
market
research to better control our corporate/product destiny. A study
conducted for us by the University of West Florida guided us to
direct our resources in developing products which offer greater
efficiencies in service automation -- products which generate cash
and profits for our users during various economic cycles. This has
resulted
in VMS enjoying strong, consistent revenues year after year. This,
in turn, will enable VMS to continue an active roll of releasing
additional products to compliment our current offerings. The benefit
to our customers will be continued new product releases, enhanced
products
and longevity of service and support.
